Digital law scrum and…bacon! Sprint 3 - Scope Creep - To be held on 29th Mar 7.30am

Scrum Board

The Twitter Vote has closed and next sprint will be on:

Scope Creep

Agile meets digital legal training

Free

If you work in IT >> Hosting >> Support and Maintenance >> Software Development >> Digital Marketing >> Campaign Design Services or you do the whole lot, no matter how big or small then:

SIGN UP HERE NOW! LIMITED SPACES!

We’re running regular digital law sprints and will give you real and useful legal information for all you digital folk to help you run your business (not just enough to make you panic and give you more questions than answers!).
Don’t worry if you missed the first 2 sprints – we’ll provide a recap of the key points covered.
And, if that isn’t enough to tempt you then we’ll even throw in a bacon sandwich! And we’re not saying you need shed loads of coffee to stay awake throughout the 2 hour session but it will be there if you need it! What’s not to like?!
Sprints will be held regularly and we’ll share the agenda in advance so you’ll know if the topic will be applicable to you and your business. Oh, and they’ll always be free!

The Project (what is it?)
Come and get your legal / business contract life sorted once and for all so you can get the knowledge you need to understand the key things you need to know to run your business without wondering or worrying what you’ve missed!
We’ll navigate you through the maze of digital law and give you tools and information to get comfortable with the issues so you can get on with the business of running your business.

Stakeholders (who should attend)
Business owners and directors of digital companies of any size.
Whether there’s one of you or you are part of a bigger business – we’ll identify specific individual roles for those larger businesses who the subsequent sessions are aimed at (e.g. we’ll at some stage run sprints for contract managers/ project managers).
So, if you work in IT >> Hosting >> Support and Maintenance >> Software Development >> Digital Marketing >> Campaign Design Services, then SIGN UP NOW!
Limited spaces so get in there quick!

Sprint 3 (Scope Creep)

As voted for in our twitter poll, this session we’ll be covering scope creep – what is it and how to manage it both through your contract and your processes.
There will be time to chat afterwards but if you have anything specific you’d like to discuss with Tracey or Alison (Tracey’s right hand woman) then if you let us know we can book you a specific time slot. Or if you think the answer will be relevant to others in your industry, let us know and we may cover it in a future sprint.

ScrumMaster:
Tracey O’Connell, co founder of Lawpoint.
Fortunately for you digital lot, Tracey is not very good at offering snippets of information with no real structure around them as she entirely inflexible and feels the need to impart information that is actually useful. So against all content marketing advice she has received, Tracey is in it for the long run: to keep you lot topped up and answer all of those burning questions.

Sprint 2 (the session)
This session we’ll be putting together a scrum board to pave the way for future sprints.
But this isn’t just a planning session! At the moment you might feel like “you don’t know what you don’t know” and this session will help you understand the legal landscape in which your business is operating.
There will be time to chat afterwards but if you have anything specific you’d like to discuss with Tracey or Alison (Tracey’s right hand woman) then if you let us know we can book you a specific time slot. A bit more about Tracey
Tracey O’Connell was working as a solicitor for one of the UK’s top law firms when she decided there were better and more cost-efficient ways to provide integrated business and legal services. Lawpoint was born and Tracey was proven right.
And it’s not just us that agree – Tracey O’Connell of Lawpoint was invited to contribute to the book, The Collaboration Game, and has written the chapter on contractual arrangements for collaborative freelancing.

About Lawpoint – Lawpoint specialise in the creation and management of Business Contracts. They have little time for legal myths and mysteries. They actually believe in helping you understand contract law and its implications for your business.

Well & Connected

Based in Bournemouth these groups run every four weeks. We go along to enjoy a nutritious breakfast, vibrant conversation and meeting likeminded people.

Meetdraw 9th June #MD30 (Closed)

Well that was the digital party of the summer, heck it may well have actually been THE party of the summer.

Last June they put on their first Big Bash party and we’ve heard from you guys that it was a great success. It’s still being talked about 12 months on so they did it again. This year they had over 900 digital party animals. This was an event you really didn’t want to miss … and it was FREE.

If you went you’ll know the score (if you weren’t, where were you??!), there was a huge beachside location in Bournemouth, marquees, food, drink and leading entertainment.

They had:

A stellar line up of leading local DJs playing everything from latino to house
3 bars
An outdoor cocktail bar
World food market
An ambient chill out zone
A host of amazing characters from the Bournemouth creative community (including you!?)

The Bigger Bash was open to everyone in the digital, creative and marketing community. All digital and creative animals were welcome, including – client side, agency, freelance and students types. It was a networking party offering you a great opportunity to get to know local industry folk; we’re sure you’ll have made new best friends by the end of the night.

It was a ticket only event and tickets were FREE. That’s right, FREE.

We went as we are sponsors, if we didn’t catch up with you, look out for us next time or give us a call.
